1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how BXM Education & Consulting LLC, an Illinois limited liability company based in Chicago, Illinois (“BxM”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information through bxmeducation.com, our learning platform and our services (the “Platform”).

It applies to visitors, students, trainees, parents, supervisors, agency and school staff, and anyone who contacts us. It works together with our Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy.

2. Information You Give Us

• Account information: name, email address, username and password (stored encrypted).
• Purchase information: name, email, phone number and country. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe. BxM never sees or stores your full card number.
• Learning records: courses you take, lesson progress, quiz and exam answers and scores, time spent in some courses, and certificates issued.
• Work you submit: worksheets, workbooks, reflections, data sheets and, for some programs, practicum materials. These are sent to your assigned supervisor or trainer.
• Supervision records: session dates, hours, supervisor feedback and evaluations needed to document supervised experience.
• Agency, school and district information: the organization’s contact person, and the names and emails of the trainees who receive seat codes.
• Waitlist and contact forms: name, email, your role (for example “special education teacher”) and your message.
• Communications: emails and messages you send us.

3. Information Collected Automatically

• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and date and time, kept in server and security logs.
• Security logs: login attempts and account activity, to protect the Platform from attacks.
• Cookies: small files that keep you logged in, remember your cart, help with checkout (including Stripe’s fraud prevention) and record which page or link brought you to a purchase. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

4. How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account and give you access to what you bought.
• To process payments, refunds and seat codes.
• To track progress, grade quizzes and issue certificates.
• To deliver supervision and share your submitted work with your supervisor or trainer.
• To keep the records that professional requirements may require, for example documentation of training or supervised fieldwork.
• To reply to questions and send service messages (receipts, access, password and course notices).
• To send news about our programs if you joined a waitlist or agreed to receive it. You can opt out at any time.
• To keep the Platform secure, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share only what is needed with:

• Your supervisor, trainer or organization: if you study through an agency, school or district, or in a supervised program, they can see your progress, submitted work and completion status.
• Service providers that run the Platform for us: Stripe (payments), our web hosting provider (stores the site and its data in the United States), Google (business email and sending site emails; Google Fonts for page text), Vimeo (course videos) and Zoom (live sessions, when used).
• Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety and security.
• A buyer or successor if BxM is merged or sold, under this same policy.

Links to Amazon in our Shop take you to Amazon’s website, where Amazon’s own privacy policy applies. As an Amazon Associate, BxM earns from qualifying purchases.

6. Children’s and Students’ Information

The Platform is for adults and professionals. You must be at least 16 to use it, and 18 (or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission) to buy. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Some programs (Parent Training, Adapted PE, RBT and supervision courses) involve your work with children or clients. Do not enter names or other details that could identify a child, student or client in worksheets, workbooks or practicum materials. Use initials or codes. Before filming or recording any student, you must have the permissions your school and the law require, including parental consent and FERPA rules where they apply.

7. How Long We Keep Information

• Account and learning records: while your account is active, and afterwards as long as needed to confirm completions and certificates.
• Supervision and training documentation: for the period professional bodies require. For example, the BACB currently asks that fieldwork documentation be kept for at least 7 years.
• Purchase and tax records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
• Waitlist entries: until you ask to be removed or the program opens and you no longer want updates.
• Security logs: for a limited time, then deleted.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us to:

• see the personal information we hold about you;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your account and personal information (we may keep what the law or professional record-keeping requires, and certificates may no longer be verifiable afterwards);
• stop marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link or email us);
• get a copy of your information in a common format.

Use our Privacy Request form, or email info@bxmeducation.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We will confirm your identity and reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, state laws may give you additional rights; we will honor them where they apply. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

9. Security

We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, limits on login attempts, activity logs, restricted administrator access and payment processing by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

10. Users Outside the United States

BxM is based in the United States, and the Platform is hosted there. If you use it from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will tell registered users by email or on the Platform.
